*PICS* B&A's from this weekend 56K warning

EBPcivicsi

GOT PREP?
Had a few details this weekend and thought that I would share.

The first is a 2004 GMC Denali, a return customer(also a VERY good customer).

The inside was a mess with dog hair EVERYWHERE!!!! Sorry no before pics.

I started this detail on Saturday, got everything except the paint finish and started to poor rain!!!:( I came back today, gave a quick S&W and finished with PWC with the PC @5.

AIO on the hard plastic and moldings, Meguiars high gloss endurance on the tires.

Next up was a 1998 chrysler sebring, she was a WRECK!!!! The inside was really trashed, the pics just don't show the true condition of the car.

The outside has various repaints, bonded "gunk" all over the paint, tar, sap you name it. I used Hi-TEMP meduim cut with a meguiars polishing pad @5.5. This is a very nice polish, on par with DACP, but much easier to work with. I then topped with NXT

Wheels were cleaned with an acid based wheel cleaner and my EZ detail brush. Tires are dressed with Meg's high endurance. I did not dress the wheel wells because the customer has to drive down a gravel road in order tyo get the hanger(he is a pilot).

After on the interior.

My thoughts in general on convertables are that they are dirty and dusty in odd places because of the owners riding with the top down. This car made me feel even stronger that this is true.

Sorry, I took this from the wrong side

The lighting conditions were not even close to being the same for the B&A's, but hopefully you can get an idea of what I was dealing with.

After

BTW, I cleaned the top with Ragg top cleaner, worked great(thanks oo Ranger!!)

nice job on the denali, and whoa  on the chrysler. it's like it got a whole new paint job. good job on that one! interesting (and probably true) theory on convertibles. i also have one that it makes men bald. :D

I love the lines in the carpet on the Chrysler, I think that is a classy touch!:xyxthumbs And boy does PwC look good on white!

Beautiful work! What a transformation on that Sebring. I too am a fan of those carpet lines. What did you use on the carpet, if you want to share??:up :up

Very nice work ebpcivicsi :xyxthumbs

A few questions:

1. Why'd you use an acid based wheel cleaner?

2. What, if any, effect will that have on the wheels clearcoat?

3. Which cleaner did you use?

I've never used an acid based wheel cleaner, so that's why I'm curious. :D

I find that on extremely neglected wheels that an acid based wheel cleaner saves me time and effort. I cut it 50/50 with water, spray liberally, count to ten, then rinse, repeat and agitate if necessary. I have never had a problem using it in this manner. I would not use it on uncoated aluminum. Also never clean a hot wheel.

I have no need for any wheel cleaner on my personal vehicles, but for neglected wheels acid can really save you time and effort.

I use an acid based wheel cleaner that I buy locally. Most dealer supply houses carry one. Auto magic also makes a couple as does Meguiars.

:bow on that interior! Great job! :xyxthumbs

What products and methods did you use on the interior, especially the carpeting?

What acid based wheel cleaner was it?

ebpcivicsi,

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

I really appreciate it.

I will definately be trying this out on an upcoming job that has extremely neglected wheels.

Thanks again,

Thanks a lot!!!

The wheel cleaner that I used is by KARNEET, a local supply place here in Memphis. The interior cleaner that I used is made by them as well.

On the interior, I used the k-50 cut 1/8 with water on all vinyl leather, and carpet. I use a denture brush from the dollar store for all of the cracks and crevices. I dresed the leather afterwards with meguiars medallion leather cleaner/conditioner.

On the carpet I sprayed on the k-50, allowed a few minutes to sit, then rubbed with a terry cloth towel. I then reapllied the k-50, allowed a few minutes to set, then followed up with the little green clean machine. All of this after a thorough vacumming of course.

Because...it's four years old so whatever site is hosting the other pictures probably took the pictures down or the owner of the pictures took it off of his account....IT'S 4 YEARS OLD!!

SUper old thread!

Karn Automotive manufactures the Karneet brand is located just off of EP/Brooks RD--they just moved, but you could look then up in thephone book for exact directions.

I actually haven't moved the pics--perhaps I moved then into a new folder in PB account causing the break in the tag???
