Photos after cutting / compounding with a rotary.

Well I'm finally getting technique down with the rotary. My question is this. In learning the rotary I've been using pretty mild combo's to get technique down without leaving behind a hologram'd mess.

BUT now I want to step it up to be able to do major correction with heavy compounds and cutting pads. I'm curious to see pictures of paint haze caused by say Menzerna Powergloss and a orange or yellow cutting pad. Just want to make sure i don't scare the crap out of myslef when i use this combo...or if this should leave a relatively nice finish when done i also want to make sure the paint doesn't look worse than it should.

Thanks

These photos are from when I was just learning to wetsand and use a rotary, so they don't look quite as good as the results I'd get now, but they give you a good idea of what you could expect the first few times. Sorry about the massive 2nd pic, i couldn't get the resize to work.

With a rotary, you will see heavy swirls more than a haze, but the finish ought to still be quite clear depending on the pad used, especially with PG which finishes much glossier than anything else of its cutting ability. Now if you were to use PG with a PC, you'd see a more of a hazed finish. But don't worry so much about how the finish looks after compounding with PG, just as long as you can restore the finish with a step or two of polishing...depending on the color.

I really don't get much hazing/micro-marring unless I use wool/PG. I can clean that up with waffle foam/PG and it leaves the surface pretty nice.

Here is a shot after being compounded with wool and 3M products...
