Paint Correction:
After the car had been fully stripped of the old wax and clay barred, I went ahead and took measurements of the paint. The body read readings of 110 to 120 microns on average and the hard top was anywhere from 240 to 320 microns.

I did a test on the rear driver's rear fender since it was the area that required the most attention. The solution was one pass with Powergloss on a orange pad then followed up with two passes of SIP on a orange pad and finally one pass with 106fa on a white pad.

Most of paint correction could be rectified with just one or two passes of SIP and one pass with 106fa. One interesting thing that I found out while working on this car was the paint was super soft. It was almost as soft as the dreaded Jet Black.

After the paint correction was complete, I wiped down the panels with my IPA/H2O wipe to ensure that the panels were prepped for the sealant and wax. Now on to the pictures.

Interior: The interior also required a lot of attention, and since this car is convertible I imagined that there were be a large of amount of dust and dirt in cracks and crevices. The first step was to vacuum as much of the dirt and dust out of the car as I could. I then went ahead and wiped down with Cockpit Premium and wiped the same area again with a dry MF to pick up any dirt I missed. The next step was then to extract the dirt in the carpet and mats and dress with 303 aerospace and on to the pictures.

Laguna Seca blue is such a sick color on BMW's. Nice work man. How the heck are you getting those close up shots of the defects . . . . . what settings that is as i know you have a similar camera to me.

Nice before and afters and 50/50's it all looks sweet!

nice work, that paint was bad. the interior was ugly too.

what time did you put into this?

Vagina Racing, is this a female owned M3 ?

Very impressive work bro! :2thumbs:

I can't believe how trashed that car was though....such a shame. :(

LOL. With the car and interior that trashed I have a feeling there wasn't much vagina racing in that car! :D

One of the better corrections I've seen in a long time. LSB is an all-time favorite color of mine as well.

EXCELLENT work, my friend!

Job was done nice! I did notice the vents where dirty. Also The headlights looked scratched up on the after shots. I just mentioned both for you just for next time. I know I post things up and get bashed to hell!!!!!

Looks sweet tho!

SWIRLS!!!! Wow what a turn around in every way. The paint looked twice as old as the car is, but you brought her back nicely. Very sleek and wet looking paint after. As for the interior - more nice work and I LOVE Cockpit Premium.

I really love E46 M3's, and have a special place in my heart for Vagina - racing or not. Great post

I am also on the LSB bandwagon, and both thumbs up on your top-shelf "revival."

EisenHulk is right. One of the better corrections I have seen in quite a while.

Laguna Seca...Ohhhh, Laguna Seca................(Homer Simpson drooling here).
