I checked the readings on the hood before attacking it. I found that average was around 140 microns. But in some spots I found a reading as low as 76 and as high as 160. Such a large range and some scary thin paint. I had to be careful that's for sure.

This shot was after one pass with my orange pad and powergloss at 1100-1300-1500-1300-1100 rpms intervals. Simply awesome!

I pulled the car out to blow all the dust off and "try" and get some sun shots, but most importantly to check my work. Seriously, out of all the days of sunshine we have here in Arizona, the weather just didn't want to cooperate with me.

HAHA! I thought this was funny, it looks like I have Elephantiasis in this shot.

Sorry, ignore the dust in these shots.

My brothers that helped me through this battle.

Here are some interior after shots, no need for any before pictures. The interior was in excellent shape!

Ran out of light so I had to make the best with what light I had. Most of the shots were taken with a three second shutter speed and a low ISO (100-200).

I appreciate those who took the time to look through this extremely long thread. Thank you!!

Love those cars.

Great work.

I also recently did some work on a black BMW that had a lot of that "speckling" that you see in the finished spots under the halogens. What causes that?

Thanks! I know exactly what you're talking about. I've done primarily just BMW's and on every one those specks are there. I wish I had an answer though.

Wow looks great.

Thank you guys! :xyxthumbs

some of the best 50/50's posted in awhile, so gj on that. The real success is those sick after reflection shots though. Beautiful work and there's no doubt the owner had to be stunned at the turn-around

I'll start by saying that I love looking at all the threads in this section of the forums. Many detailers here have excellent skills, and I hope that one day I will be able to join their ranks when it comes to paint correction (I don't get many customers wanting it right now).

That said, this is, by far, one of the most incredible turn-arounds I've seen. When looking at the pictures, I'm reminded of the Audi that was washed with an SOS pad a few months back. I'm sure the owner was just floored when he got his vehicle back.

Very, very nice work !

You'll be there, if I can do it, anyone can. But thank you for the kind words I appreciate it!

Unbelievable! What was this guys wash technique......a push broom? Great paint correction, gotta love those old 7series!

I felt so bad for this car, so I'm glad to be of some help.

Thanks man!

I have the same car but Imola Red/Sand Beige. I noticed the "speckling" as well in my car mainly on the hood. After thoroughly cleaning all product and inspecting them under a loop, I determined that they where very small chips. I ended up using Dr. Chip smear method to cover them up, worked well.

As for correction, mine is not any where near as bad at that! If a pro in Columbus Ohio wants to correct my paint this coming spring, drop me an email! I just don't have the patience to do a full correction.

Awesome work!!!! That thing was hammered!!

Now for the floor mats, did you hand brush those lines in or is it from a machine? (vacuum, extractor) I love making the carpet neat and uniform like that, but if my LGM doesn't make it look good, some times I hand brush the lines in. Just wanting to know what others are doing to get the carpet like that. Thanks

Those are some of the best 50/50 shots I've seen. WOW that paint is seriously pitted though! Great job on it! Good photography as well. That last shot is simply stunning!
