i bought this wax about 3 yrs. ago used it liked it for it's ease of use and the finish it left. then of course i've purchasewd many, what i consider, higher end waxes, i.e. dodo juice purple haze, nattys blu, sov. paste and liq.,p21 vic's red con. just to name a few, and today i tried pete's and i gotta tell ya it's a really nice wax easy on easy off leaves a nice warm glow if you get the chance and it's in your arsenal give it a try it's right up there, imho, with alot of the other waxes we all rave about.
 
I have a decent sized collection of paste nubas, nattys blue, pinn. souv., zymol ital, trade secret 4 different dodos, 50/50 among others and I still find myself using petes 53 often. Out of all my waxes I think it's one of the nicest. I have been wanting to pick up another tub just for the hell of it.

i hear ya, but it's still a nice wax. is it the best? no, just was a pleasant surprise when i used it after so long, natty's is also a nice wax, i mean there are so many i could go on and on as you probably know, i was just giving an observation, that's all.

I just grabbed some from detailing dot com, $27 isn't a bad price for the stuff.

Great pricing on Chemical Guys and Meguiars, best I've seen. I went to order 53, said it was out of stock...figures....
 
Finally got around to trying out the 53, I can't say its much different than 50/50. Maybe a bit harder to apply, and a little brighter. It seems a bit less slick than 50/50. Too close to call though.

Yeah, if you have 50/50, don't fall for the trap like I did. Though if you have neither, the 53 is a great deal if you want something cheaper. 50/50 is my gold standard for a paste wax. Next bout against 50/50 is going to be Collinite 915 and Autoglym HD.
 
Pete's 53 is actually surprisingly easy to use given that it looks a bit like NXT tech wax paste. Looks wise it is good but not eye popping. And I don't like the fact that it comes loose in the pot.



50/50 is the better choice IMO. Its buttery texture makes it superior.
