Personal Things

What do you guys do with the personal things that you find in the car. You have to get them out of the way in order to clean? I am talking about brushes, hair clips, toys, and things that they leave on the console.

Do you take stuff out of the armrest consoles to clean or just leave it alone?

Edit, I am not a pro detailer, just want to ask the question. I hope that is OK.

Ditto the ziplock bag(s). Collects it all, and I can move it easily when needed.

I'm probably wrong, but I don' remove stuff from center consoles typically.

I carry a box of waste basket sized trash bags. Before I start on the interior, I remove everything from all door pockets, consoles, under seats, etc. I place all personal items like phone chargers, radar detectors, CDs, money, etc. in one bag, and everything that I think is trash in another. I give the customer both bags when I'm through. That way they can make sure that all trash is indeed trash. Its a good idea to present everything that you take out of the car to a customer so you dont throw away a receipt or phone number that they needed. (CYA)

I always give my customer everything that is important that I find under the seats, etc., during the detailing process. I usually put it in a ziplock bag too.

Just a note: I always give my customer back whatever money I find, even if it is just a few pennies.

The above is the best way

If you have a janitorial supply place close to you there is rolls of clear plastic office garbage can liners that come about 200 to the roll and the roll is only 1 1/2" round by 4" long and cheap. They are long and can be knotted at the top when filled.

Exactly.

I also always never assume that something I may find in a car is not important - for example: old business cards, odd findings, papers, etc.:xyxthumbs
