Personal preference, NXT/#16/#26

zesty-man

how do ya like it?
hi, i was wondering, which of the following megs products would you use. if the question isnt that easy to answer, you could always put it this way. #16 is good at dark colors, while #6 is good at light. something along the lines of that. whats your personal preference under certain conditions, or with certain polishes? thanks

If I could only chose one, it would be #16 on all colors. NXT/#16 and #20/#16 are both excellent and easy to use combos.

hmmm, you can use 2 waxes, like layering on-top of the other? ive never really thought of it that way.

The combos Scottwax suggested, e.g. NXT + #16 and #20 + #16 are examples of applying a wax (#16) over a sealant (NXT, #20). It's probably best if you let the sealant cure for 24 hrs before topping.

Of course you shouldn't apply either, sealant or wax, until your finish is properly prepped which may require claying and some degree of polishing.

Tell us about your car, (e.g. age, condition of the paint, color, etc ...) and perhaps we can point you in a direction of product selection.

hmmm, ok here we go. id first like to say that this is my aunty's car, not mine (yet).

car: 1992 eclipse

age: OLD (you do the math)

coniditon of paint: GOOD, i just got it repainted 10 months ago

color: darkish red

and yes, i understand that i have to wash, clay, dcap etc etc before i start applying the wax. i personally like to use the poorboys polish (SSR2, SSR1) when doing her car. then i figure after polishing, i can apply the NXT. i have a question however, about leting my aunty's car sit for 24 hours overnight. i live in hawaii, and dust can accumulate really fast. im afriad if i try to wax the car after 24 hours, theres already going to be some dust, perhaps causing myself to accidently make swirl marks. i figure, maybe if i did a quick detail first, then added the #16, that may work. what are your opinions?

QDing a properly prepped car before waxing should work just fine:xyxthumbs

ah, thanks. what about products and stuff? anything you would recommend to me? i was thinking of getting that pinnacle souvern stuff too, maybe. i hear its good (it better be for what youre paying for), but im gonna wait until i use more of my stuff. ive been spending pretty crazily now, and i gotta earn some back :(

zesty-man: It is hard to say exactly what products you should use. What looks good to one person may not look so good to another. Read through the product discussion forum and the review section and based on what appeals to you, order that (those) product(s) and try them out.
