Personal preference, NXT/#16/#26

zesty-man

how do ya like it?
hi, i was wondering, which of the following megs products would you use. if the question isnt that easy to answer, you could always put it this way. #16 is good at dark colors, while #6 is good at light. something along the lines of that. whats your personal preference under certain conditions, or with certain polishes? thanks

I can place a vote for #26 on light colors. I used to detail a white F150 and a light green Excursion for my old boss (he would always help and pay full price) and after applying the 26, they reflected so much light that it hurt to look at them. I just got my 16 today and haven't tested it on anything yet and I don't have and don't plan on getting NXT.

I thought the discontinuance of #16 was a rumor, but now it's starting to worry me. Better get my tin soon.

I was a big #26 fan for years, but after trying #16 3 or so times now my #26 has made it to "wife car" status.

If the rumors are true (I've read them too). do yourself a fovor and get a jar of #16 before it goes.

Don't completely write NXT Tech Wax off without giving it a shot. The only reason I bought it to start with was because Meguiar's gave free shipping with any order that had NXT included. Made the NXT almost a freebie.
After having it for some time, I finally tried it and was pleasantly surprised. It went on my wife's red Pontiac with Poorboy's PwC for a prep. Looked good and seems to have lasted over a month going by appearance. From all the negative comments I have read, I expected it to be washed off after a couple of washes. That doesn't seem to be the case at all.
Maybe the bad reports are about as much hype as the introduction was supposed to be. :dunno

FWIW, it seems to be OK, but it won't be replacing my AIO/UPP combination.

Hey,

I too would not write off NXT either until you try it yourself. :)

The problem is guys, I have a little more than 32oz. of 26, a new tin of 16, 16oz. of 9, a new tin of Natty's, a new jar of S100, 1 liter of Glanz, 1 liter of SG. I'm REALLY feeling the paste goodies right now. I have ALWAYS used carnauba waxes and still looking forward to the sealant waxes. I think I have enough goodies for right now. The only things that are "turning me on" are the pastes.

Not dissin the NXT at all. It just doesn't grab me right now.

thats why you go over the NXT with a paste wax :). anyways, sounds like youve been having some fun, but at the same time it sounds like youve been spending too? however, i guess that also means that youre making a lot back

Well, Harly goes on and comes off (in my experience) about as easy as S100 or like hot butter. Beading is like S100 and the paint looks wet after application. It lasts for about 3-4 weeks depending on your washing habits. When I used to use it all the time, I also washed the car twice a week and didn't know what a QD was. It's so easy to use that you really don't mind reapplication anyway. You can get some here http://members.aol.com/harlywax/home.html I think I'm going to whip it out and use some on my black ride and post some pictures.

I can't complain about NXT, It looked great after it was applied and has lasted now for about a month, What impressed me more was the booster wax for NXT, I think that gives better shine and depth than the original....

I give it a thumbs up...
