Perils and tricks

I did a search for similar threads and did not find any.

I thought it would be helpful to us amateurs if the pros gave some tips on different secrets.

#1. The tip I found helpful was using a toothpick to get old wax out of pinstripe.

What other things do you guys do, cleaning, product removal, interior detailing secrets, etc that would help us?

#2: If using a wax, etc that hazes, do all your trim, molding and tire dressings while its hazing up. That'll save you having to wipe the car twice.

#3: On really bad interior stains (sticky, etc) a wire brush can often succeed when nylon ones fail. I use a brass tire and battery on particularly tough stains. It can tear up the carpet, so be gentle.

#3 Roll the windows down part way to get the part that sits in the seal.

#4 Move the car foreward and dress the spot that was closest to the ground for an even coating on your tires.

#5 On really nasty interiors (vinyl and leather etc) use diluted APC and a scrub brush. Soak it down. Then suck it up with your extractor.
