Performance Red Recommendations

I have an 01 Performance Red Cobra 'vert that I bought about 6 months ago. Very low miles, well cared for. Zaino was recommended to me, and was very impressed with the results I achieved. Well, I'm almost out and need to repurchase, but have been wondering if there are better options for the Red paint (orange red in color). I'm new to this detailing thing, but have been told that some polishes work better with different colors. Any recommendations?

p.s. here's what I won last weekend...:xyxthumbs

Find something you like and use it often. A Zaino'd car with proper process will look better than a Souveran'd car without proper process. And vice versa.

The products are flavors. I like butter cream icing, you like marshmallow, she likes strawberry glaze.

Wash, clay, clean, polish, protect.

If you already have the process down, then a direct answer to the question is, Meguiar's #26 will give you a super wet, dark, "dive right in" look with very little reflectiveness (the silveriness that you get with Z).

Pinnacle Souveran will give you almost as much depth but with a touch of reflection that just might be the perfect balance for red.

My OPINION is that the reflectiveness of Z does not reward red; rather, the super reflectiveness robs it of color. But, a clean shiny car looks great regardless. The products are nuances. The real power is in the process.

I agree with Tom. If you are after the ultimate wet and deep look, proper prep and a quality carnauba will make you the happiest. If you want some additional protection, Wolfgang offers an appearance very similar to carnauba with the durability of a sealant. Prep is the key though.

Welcome!

What a magnificent car you have!

Black and red.

The two colors that are the most rewarding.

Everything has been said.

Me? I get the best 'pop' from a quality carnauba OVER a premium polymer sealant. It has been said that sealants give a 'hard plastic-looking' shine, and that carnaubas give 'warmth and depth'. Well, heck, I want both!

For me, it's the Klasse Twins (3xSG) and frequent coats of a Souveran topper.

Zaino is great, but not the only solution for red!

Have fun trying!

I say polish with 1Z PP or equivalent and make sure surface is marring free. put on a coat of 1z glanz and then top that with some pinnacle souveran paste. looks awesome. i got many compliments from random people on that process.

I have always loved #7 topped with #26 on my Laser Red Mustang.

This is my favorite shot, the paint looks like you could just swim in it but, then again I am biased :D

I hear too often about how Carnauba makes paint "cloudy". How is this for cloudy? ;)

I am also pretty happy with NXT. I have gotten great results with it.

The look is very close to #7 topped with #26 although NXT gives up a bit of the glossy wetness for more reflectivity.
