Figured you guys (and gals) would enjoy seeing the LED lighting upgrade I added to my son`s Peg Perego John Deere tractor the other day:

Headlights:

LED`s hidden behind the headlight lens covers for a clean OEM look:

Rear LED`s:

Amber colored LED`s hidden under the amber tail light covers:

Used wire clips + spiral wrap to manage the wires running from the headlights into the lighting connectors blocks:

Added an on/off switch:

And then wired the lights into the battery so everything is on the same circuit:

It was a fun little DIY project, with only a few minor mistakes only the way :P , and one I`d highly recommend to anyone with children (or grandchildren) who have ride-on battery powered toys.

Now I just need to coat it with DLUX!

Man that brings back memories when my little ones had their JD Gator! Great work on the lights, looks like they came like that from factory.

Looks awesome!

Angus: "Son, come back when the streetlights turn on!"

Angus jr: "But DAAAaaad, you just put lights on my ride!"

Angus: "Grumble.....grumble..."

Awesome set-up Angus! Maybe before coating you can do a polish, I think I see some swirls in this picture ;)

We need 50/50 shots!

Thank you! Planning out where to run the wires/ what size holes to drill took the biggest amount of time. I`m pretty happy with how everything came out :)

looks like fun ... and can drive at night

Heck yeah! He was already driving around in the dark - now it`s just easier to keep an eye on him :inspector:

Haha - too true. Thanks man!

Great lighting, Angus!

Thank you, Sir!

50/50 shots inbound.

Super cool project! Well done!

Thank you! It was a fun project. Glad you guys enjoyed the pics.

That is awesome.

What type of LED emitters are you using?

Great work, very clean looking install:)

Thank you! Not sure about the LED emitter type - I`ll see if I can figure it out/ let you know.

I noticed the rubber tread covers on the rear tires - is that something that comes with the tractor, or custom made? Very cool idea for more traction.

Good eye! That`s an old front tractor tire that I cut the side walls off of and slipped over the existing plastic one for added grip:

It works just ok. Attaching the rubber treads to the plastic will help BUT I`m hesitant about using metal screws to do because I don`t want them coming out / ending up in our car`s tires...

When is the high voltage upgrade? haha

Ha! Rest assured the 24V upgrade will happen at some point down the road. Right now we have "2nd" gear locked out (little red bar in the center of the photo) limiting the top speed at 2.5mph.

Once I figure out the tires my next DYI on it will be adding a plow:

Neat huh???
