you can get dual halogen lamps mounted on a tripod at Pep Boys for $25. Seems like a good deal.



The lighting tends to be very harsh from this style of lamp, but it may be a solution for those with very poor lighting:

a good way to soften the light is to point them upward if you are in the garage and bounce the light off the ceiling, it will be more even and won't blind you if your eyes stray toward the bulbs

they are also a great way of warming a panel in he winter for a little work with Klasse or something you need to dy, from a safe distance of course
