Pebble Beach and Monterey

AMDin93103

I like cheese.
This is my first; I am working most days until mid-afternoon but would like to get out and see a bit of the action. Is there any one thing that I would be a fool to miss while I am there? Thanks!

i've never been, but i wish i could someday. i think just being there amongst all that beautiful machinery and the setting itself would be enough. i'm envious. have a wonderful time.:bounce

If it’s at all possible, try to walk the track while your favorite class of cars is out. I grew up with sixties and seventies endurance racers and Can Am cars so the GT40’s, Lola’s, Mclarens, 512M’s, 330 P4’s, 917’s etc are must-see’s for me.

Spend some time at the corkscrew.

PC.

So far it has been nothing short of amazing- beautiful machinery is an understatement. I spent Wednesday (kinda) watching vehicles get released from their carriers and reloaded after their walk-arounds. Our pace has been very steady but look forward to taking an hour or so to see the sun rise on the greens at the Lodge on Sunday morning. Depending on my schedule when I get back to Santa Barbara, pictures should follow. . .

Heh ... was just in Monterey last weekend visiting friends who live in Seaside. I love that town. I came out a week early. ;)

Oh well. I'm jealous!

Monterey Fish House is the "local pick" for dinner. Food was great, but I can't speak for the quality of service. I was disappointed at best.

That's all I got.

This car was a work car that sat for a while and probably hasn't been washed in since it left the dealer. My boss asked me to see if I could clean it up a little so we can ship it off to another office, where someone else would probably trash it. It was done on my day off, at my own expense, and no compensation for the work. Needless to say, I wasn't getting into any real detailed work or using any of my expensive products. It was done with items that were laying around the garage. I think that the paint came out pretty decent.
