That car was incredibly difficult to polish. I can't recall harder paint. I was compounding an area of 6" x 6" at a time, making numerous passes and constantly checking my work with the Brinkmann. It was very tedious work, made even more challenging as the car was black.

Bryan, you really gutted out that one. I don't think there are many detailers with the skill and patience to finish that car properly. How many hours did you have on the hood? Eight?

Bret, The level of defects and the hardness of the paint, did not lend itself to anything simple.

I think the schedule went something like this:

Sat-Meet client at airport for pickup.

Sun-Wash, clay.

Mon-After 3 hours of sleep as I worked the night before, happy to see you arrive. 18 man hours later, I had the hood and half of the roof compounded, while you did the same to the right side panels.

Tues-I started at 9am and worked till 12:30am. My interior specialist put in at least 4 hours on the interior.

Wed-Started at 7:30a and delivered the car at noon to the client at the airport. He walked around the car for 2-3 mins in the bright sun, all the while shaking his head and declared, "I dont see any swirl marks left!"

Bret, I very much appreciate your skill and understanding of the craft!

Way to knock it out guys! That poor car had some major life sapped out of it, but with some quality time in the right hands she's back to new again. No doubt another happy owner!

When guys like you spend that kind of time on a single panel  it just goes to show what this stuff can be like!

bretfraz- Please check your PMs.

Just....awesome. My pulse went up when I saw the 'before' video. This is one of my all-time favorite cars. In your hands I knew the results would be spectacular, and you didn't disappoint. Awesome work!

Thanks Jerry! Hope to find you are doing well!

I love those wagons. I didn't know these things had paint that difficult? Looks great. Hopefully you didn't work Bret too hard!

Hey, nice work again Bryan and Bret. :shocked

Quite a duel. :fencing:

I watched the video stream in the TID Chatroom .

You were really duking it out with that paint. :boxing:

As you worked, we all got to correspond. :typing:

While we chatted :gossip:,

You were working :buffing:.

At one point, that car was a gettin' to you. I think I saw one of these:

Must have been killer, because then you did one of these: :whoo:

It's really a blast to watch the work being done in real-time.

Thanks for putting yourself out there for all to see. :hail:

Takes some serious :juggle:. And I don't mean juggling.

Kevin, Thanks for the laughs! You never know when I'll get the macbook rolling during a detail at my place.

Should have used a rotory, it would have cut your time in half. :Banane16:That car was hammered! :Banane21: You two are like pea's in a pod. :Banane59:I'll bet your two gentleman were doing splits and upside moonwalks when you were done! :Banane13::Banane21: way to shoot that hack up and show him how its done.:Banane36:

Okay if none of this makes sense, please forgive me. I was trying to out do Kevins smily faces, but couldn't do it. I was going Banana's. That Kevin sure likes his smiles. :bananapowerslide:

Ok Great work Gentleman. Car looks stunning! I love the roof shot with reflections! :xyxthumbs

Barry, I actually did spin some 105 with an edge yellow wool at 1500-1700 on the hood. I should of spritzed some water with it, got tired of it and went back to r/o.

I was too damm tired to do circus tricks when I was done. :)

Bret did like 30 mins of break dancing before he left. I did a video of it, but can't release it due to our agreement.

Thanks buddy!
