Can i use the pc7424 to polish my headlights clear from yellowed? more over can i use the same meguiars compounds that i would use for my car, or should i be buying separate products.

Thanks,

Matt

You could try plastx or some other plastic polish to do it. Heck some people use toothpaste to restore headlights. Personally I've used my regular compound to take out water etching on glass and my regular polish to clear up interior plastic trim, I was never a fan of excessively specific products when I can get other products to do the same thing (ie: sealants over "wheel wax").

Just make sure you have a good sealant you apply to your headlights regularly to protect them from future yellowing.

It would be best to remove some of the failed UV coating by resurfacing first, then polishing up using the PCXP and a 4" D/A pad system. I have had great results with lights just begining to fail by using the Meguiar's 3" MF D/A correction 2 step system....A premium car care wax or sealant will work for an LSP it just not permanant and should be done often.

i used a 3" surbuf pad (w/ HD UNO) on my G100 on some yellowed oxidized headlights and it worked very well, more so then using a foam pad alone...

I use my PC with 4" orange pads and Mothers Pro Rubbing compound followed by a finer polish like HD UNO or 3M or similar.

I try and get my hands on the bundle of 3m's polishing finesse it 3" 1/4 foam pads the pack of ten. I always want to bid on them on ebay- i lost by dollar snipe on last one for 15$ free shipping 10pack of #02648

PlastX is a waste, as someone mentioned above, it's too specific of a product. I have a bottle I tried, blah. I'm a big fan of using whatever I can pick off the shelf, so I have plenty of Ultimate Compound and Swirl Remover that I use on headlights. Works great and I don't have to wait for shipping.

I do however have bottles of 105/205 that I use most of the time. But, when I first started doing headlights, I used my regular 5.5" pads and UC/SR.

I have a YouTube video when I purchased a bunch of stuff. I will be posting another one soon using the combo above.
