PC vibration/counterweight sounds

Hi,

I just got my PC and a backing plate with 5inch LC pads.

I just put a white one on to see how it worked, spun, etc. when i turned it on, it was pretty noisy. It sounded like the counterweight was making most of the noise, clanking and what not all over the place inside. Is this normal? Is everyone's PCs like this? Or do i need to purchase a new counterweight? thanks!

Did you buy it new? You shouldnt have to buy a new counterweight if its a new PC. I just started using my new one and its as noisy and obnoxious as the old used oneI picked up cheap. Today was the first day I had it up to 6 on some terrible swirls. Now I know why it came with the handle attachment. That sucker vibrates your arm to the shoulder! I put it down and broke out my Makita rotary. Im beginning to rethink the PC purchase. If I can get it all done with my rotary, Im not sure I need the PC. But yea, its pretty noisy.....

did you use the spacer under the backing plate?

some backing plates need it

a PC is noisy but it should not clank

The backing plate that came with my order did come with a small spacer. I put it inbetween the backing plate and the hole that you screw it into. So i am assuming i did it right and this is normal, allwell!
