PC Sounds funny

Just got my pc in the mail the other day and I got right to playing with it. I got it from Coastal Tool and it came with the 6 inch counterweight and the 6 inch hook and loom pad. I took off the 5 inch counter wieght and tightened down the 6inch one. Put on the hook and loom pad by holding the nut on the PC in place and screwing on the hook and Loom pad. I turned it on to get a feel for what it felt like. Now it seems to make a noise almost like a vibrating screw that wasn't tighented all the way. So I took off the pad and made sure that everything was tight. It was..

So I am now starting to think that this noise is normal? Can anyone reassure me that this is what is to be expected? thanks
 
They ARE loud. I got mine from Coastal as well, and I too switched to the 6" counterweight. At high speeds, the vibration is bone-rattling, so I am going to experiment with the 5" this week.

Personally, I think it sounds like this old Waterpik we had (you know, that thing that shoots out pulsating jets of water to clean your teeth?) basically I guess it's an electric water pump, mixed in with rattling..... peanuts I guess. :rolleyes:



PS, try not to run it at high speed unless it's resting on something, as the pad starts spinning freakishly fast.



EDIT: DavidB's video also has some sounds of the PC in it, but everytime I think of what it sounds like in the video, I think it sounds like a circular saw or something....
