PC Pad, wax, dressing help please!!

OK- so I FINALLY got all my products I am going to use to get the swirls out of my truck and detail it (SSR-1, AIO, PB EX).

-I am now running into the problem of figuring out which pads to order and use with which product (swirls are mild to mild/moderate).

-Can anyone suggest a good carnauba wax to top the EX with? I am looking for good durability and shine.

-Last, what would be a good interior/exterior dressing? I want something that has a matte finish, not greasy or shiny, and smells halfway decent. I Was using Malco E-Zee Shine.

thanks for your input

IMO you're not going to get out even mild swirls with SSR1, that will only take out very fine swirls. If you don't want to spring for SSR2 or 2.5, you should try the SSR1 with a cutting or orange pad. If you have a light colored car, you can probably finish with the orange pad, if it's dark, follow with a polishing pad. Top the EX with Natty's or Natty's Blue, if you're a Pb's fan, and do your interior with Natural Look dressing, it's got a cherry smell.

Thanks, My truck is light-pewter metallic. What is the main difference between SSR-2 and 2.5? Last, should I use the 2.5/2 with an orange pad and follow it up with the ssr-1 on a white pad, or and orange pad?

thanks!

There was a recent thread asking about why no one seems to use SSR2, and it's because 2.5 has a little more bite but seems to finish down as well. Just a little more convenient to just use 2.5, and modulate the cut a bit with the pad. With your color paint, I would bet you could just do 2.5/orange, ease up on the pressure on your final pass, and go right to LSP. It's possible you will have to do 2 applications of SSR2.5/orange to get all the swirls out. Use significant pressure for swirl removal, then lighten up in the end as the polish breaks down to get your best finish. If it's not satisfactory, follow with SSR1 on a white pad. If the pad kit is a good deal, go for it, I personally don't use finishing pads too often.
