Iam using a dewalt Da ,I have notice everyone using a PC I was wonderihg if one was better then the other?:waxing:

all depends on your oppinion. the pc is obviosiuly a more popular da than the makita and dewalt. . . . . . . but hey are all good brands

does your da have a dust port on the bakc of it for a bag to collect sanding particles?

There *is* the issue of what backing plates are available (esp. for 4" pads), but hey, the Dewalt might even be *better* than the PC. Years ago, before the PC got so popular for this stuff, people used all kinds of random orbital sanders for detailing applications (the Metabo comes to mind, never hear about 'em these days). IMO the whole PC craze has a lot to do with marketing and availability.

PC is 3.7 amps 2500-6000 opm, DeWalt is 4.3 amps 4300-6800 opm (I don't know how throw of their orbits compares). Considering I didn't hear of anyone using PC at speed setting of 3 or less I would guess one can say DeWalt covers same working range as PC and bit more, but that bit extra might not matter to 95% of the users. Big difference might be coming in user friendliness area as DeWalt keeps talking about how theirs is low vibration / low impact on user.

In other words, you are having tool that seems will do just fine, and market's PC mantra might be just that, a mantra. I personally am having PC because, well, that's what I kept hearing about.
