PC counterweight for 4 inch pads?

With all the talk about counterweights on the PC, no one has brought up what counterweight to use when you do a spot repair using a 3.5 backing plate and a 4 inch pad. I just leave my 6 inch counterweight on. I don't use the 4 inch pads that often.

Same here, I just leave the 6" one on all the time.
 
I use the 5" counterweight with the small backing plate - - but don't know if it's any better than using the 6" weight.
 
~One man’s opinion / observations ~



The counterweight is fitted to ‘balance’ the larger (6-inch backing plate/foam pad) set-up a smaller (5-inch or less) will not cause any out of balance so there is no need to change the counter weight.
