i have a pc with 5" backing plate and 6" pads.. i guess my question really is if it's ok to use the PC on areas where the whole pad isn't touching paint and only 1/2 or so is (like the top area on some bumpers).
I had the same question. Also, do you have to take care not to have the sides of the pads hitting the paint? For exampe, doing an area that is a 90 degree angle like the rear bumper and the trunk lid.
