PC 7424Xp or the Meguiar's G110v2

Looks like they are both pretty similar. The PC has different size backing plates to allow for smaller 4 inch pads. The Megs comes with a 6 inch plate. Can the LC 3.5 inch plates be used on the Megs? I am new to machine polishing and from what I read, these 2 can do the job just fine. I would like to have the ability to use smaller pads as needed.

I'd go with either the XP or the Griot's buffer. XP is a proven platform, the Griot's has awesome power and a terrific warranty. I think any of them will take the same backing plates.
