PC 7424 White Pad

Are you talking about the pad that actually comes in the PC box? If so, I use it to take up space in my garage. Nothing more than that. I have the hook and loop backing plate so I can't easily use it.

If you are referring to white pads in general, they are what i use for 80% of my tasks.

ToddW, people do not like the original white pad that came with the pc for several reasons. first there are better performing pads out there at a better price . also as GTScott said " can be used with a hook and loop backing plate " to speed up changing pads w/o a wrench.second there have been reports of the original white pad falling apart after a very short time, so durability seems to be an issue. I am sure somebody else will chime in with some comments on this as well. hope this helped a little.

Imagine large chunks of pad coming off in all directions and the pad plate coming in contact with your paint. These are some of the horror stories told about using the stock pad to polish a car.

Works wonders on Glass, stoves, showers ect. But i wouldn't dare use it on my cars paint! To be honest it's rather nice to have a cheap pad that I can use to clean stuff like thaet with, without having to worry about messing up any of my good pads that way.

General consensus (and I agree) is not to use it on your car's paint. However, I have found the pad to be great on your car's windows --> I have gotten a very nice clean shine using VM or AIO at speeds 3-4 . The key is not to press down hard and let VM/AIO do the cleaning for you. My white pad is 2 years old and shows no signs of breaking up.

That will be the thought from which my nightmare tonight will be composed.
