PC 7424 vs PC 7336 (noob q)

Hello and thank you for having me in your forums. I have a 2003 Redfire Mustang Cobra. My roommate has a 2003 Oxford White Cobra and a 97 Onyx Black Cobra. We love to detail and clean our cars, but after reading some of the information here, we came to the conclusion we just might be rookies....



So my first question here is what is the difference between the PC 7427 and the PC 7336? I can get a good deal on the 7336 at Lowes for under 100 bucks but I want to be sure that is the right buffer I am looking for.

They are basically the same animal but with a different counterweight and backing plate. If you order some pads order the correct size backing plate and you'll be all set.



If you then think you need to change the counterweight they aren't very expensive. Here are three links; the first deals with the counterweight, the other two with the pc itself and a source for counterweights:
