Pc 7336sp Vs 7336

As some of you know, I purchased a PC 7336SP under the understanding the it had a 6" counterweight. I was just informed by a local tool company today that the PC 7336SP has a 5" counterweight and the PC 7336 has a 6" counterweight. I'm returning the PC 7336SP tomorrow to Lowes and picking up a PC 7336 at the local tool company. Not sure on the different counterweight size but figure I will cover my bases and make sure that I get a 6" counterweight just in case I use larger pads. In addition, the tool company has them on sale for $99.99 after local rebate.

Did anyone out there know that there was (or is there) a difference in the counterweights between the two PC 7336 buffers? I checked web sites and read all of the owner's manual and parts listing and there was no info on the size of the counterweight. I took the backing plate off and and the counterweight only had the 6" pad restriction stamped in it.

Any input!!!!

Brad

Something doesn't sound right . The 7336SP and 7336 are the exact same machine. The difference is that the 7336SP comes with a sanding disk and polishing pad. The 7336 just has the sanding disk. Both should have a 6 inch counter weight, that is what makes them 7336 models. The 7424 comes with a 5 inch weight.

If the counterweight says "USE WITH A 6 INCH PAD ONLY" you got the counterweight your looking for. That is the 6" counterweight. Dont worry and go to town.

Hi morrison,

I think the local tool company has good prices but they don't know what they are selling. ;)

The 7424 comes standard with a 5" counterweight.

The 7336 and 7336SP comes standard with a 6" counterweight.

Morrison,

I bought the 7336SP at Lowes and it has a 6" counterweight. I think this is the advantage this model has over the 7424.

Either way it is an impressive machine. I placed an order for a Lake County pad with Pakshak which I would recommend. I am using a Megs finishing pad in the interim.

^^ What he said. Your local tool company either doesn't now what they are talking about, or they are just scamming you into buying from them instead of Lowes.
