PC 7336sp or 7424

For you Canuckbians that are having a hard time finding a 7336SP or the 7424 The Tool Place in Kelowna BC have them at $219 and $229 respectively .. I think Can. Tire was more than that. All the US guys are prolly saying "Holy Crap!!!" .. ya we pay through the a$$ up here for stuff.
 
I would go with the 7336SP (that's what I bought)...with the SP you get a foam polishing pad and more importantly, the 6in counterweight...with the 7424, you still have to buy the 6in counterweight because I believe it comes with a 5in...plus the SP is cheaper -- $219 vs $229...in addition to the velcro backing plate and misc pads you will purchase...

Local = $219 x 14% pst/gst = $249



And there is always some hidden fee for another $15 or so ..
 
You just have to shop around. Phoning around for a 7336 will hopefully turn one up for only $180-ish.



BTW, you don't have to pay both duty AND taxes. Duty IS tax. In our case it's GST + PST. UPS will, of course, want to charge you for their brokerage, which is where the massive ripoff takes place...



I will only buy from the US if they can send it USPS now.

Nope .. duty is import duty .. pst and gst are different .. they are taxes . Import duty is based on the value of the goods converted to Canadain Funds. And yes UPS and others will ding you brokerage fees.

Any item mailed into Canada is potentially subject to duty and/or taxes.



The Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) can examine any item entering Canada and is responsible for determining any applicable duty and taxes payable.



Duty and taxes .. they are different things .. I know I worked in the Purchasing importing function for many years and have PMAC Graduate Certification.

Could you explain how it works then? I've gotten packages from the US before and all I ever recall getting charged was 14% and $5 customs fee..... :nixweiss

Just have the store put a declared value of $0.00 on it, and as a warranty replacement part.



You will pay nothing. My supercharger, Headers, and mid pipe were all shipped this way....



That is over 6G;s and I did not pay a dime
 
Try looking for a 7335 at any industrial supply store that carries porter cable. You'll pay less than $180 CDN and have a 5" backing plate already. Add in $5 to $10 for a hook and loop converter disc and $3 for the 6"in counterweight.
