Poorboy’s wheel sealer test – First Impression:

Came in a small sample container, so no comments on packaging, directions, etc..

It has a purple color, smells like grape bubble yum, and is a bit thicker than EX-P.

It’s basically a wipe on, let haze, wipe off product.

How does it look: I have a white Cadillac CTS, with polished aluminium wheels (which have a fairly dull look)
After 1 coat, not much difference in the appearance. 2 coats, and my aluminium wheels had a noticeably improved clear & bright appearance and felt slick.

Performance: Here’s where this product SHINES!
My CTS is a daily driver. I live in Delaware, and commute to Philadelphia. About a 50mile commute each way. Last week was miserable. It rained nearly every day. I could not believe that after 1 round trip in the rain & muck (100 miles), I had no build up of brake dust & orange dirt stains on the wheels. I wish the rest of the car looked so good. Day2, it rained again all day again –same results, the wheels looked good! After the second day I washed the car. The wheels were in good shape, but the tires, wells, and paint were getting grimy and making me twitch  Wednesday I lucked out and missed the rain, but it was back again on Thursday and Friday.

Clean up: VERY easy. There was virtually no build up on the rims. Auto soap, water, sponge and wheel brush did the trick. I usually have to use a wheel cleaner, but not this time.

Product used before: AIO.

Rating 1-10, 10 being the best.

Appearance: After 1 coat a 4, after 2 coats an 8

Protection (Ability to repel dirt and brake dust): 10 out of 10. I’ve NEVER used a miracle product like this. -Simply fantastic stuff if you’re like me and hate scrubbing the wheels after a few days of rain.

Durability: So far, so good. I’d like to wait a month to 6 weeks before commenting on this aspect, but so far so good!

Remember my email to ya Steve...so this is what you were talking about. I need some for those alco semi truck aluminum rims :) Not a polished rim though. How would this stuff work?

Didn't even knew it existed :(

but I'd like to try some :)

Nice review BTW!

It wouldn't be experimental if everyone knew about it:)

yet there was a thread if you remember asking about who had Polished wheels;)

Steve, please hurry with this one. It's sounds like exactly what I've been looking for! :angel

Riiiiiiiiiiight. I remember.

The Caddy wheels are cleared (Polished, then cleacoated). My dad has em on his CTS. Would love to give it a shot since they go through hell (daily driven, stays outdoors, 100+ miles a day)

It might be possible, but you might have to come up to get it;)

Zesty, if you do go for a swim (and a rather long Forest Gump run), get some for me and drop it off in San Diego, would ya?

While your run is going back to Beautiful Hawaii( said it like is should) you'll be passing the Grand Canyon state of AZ you can drop off a few (to lighten your load of course;) ) and then to RJ SD in San Diego.

ps will supply water for your Forest Gump run:lmfao

Glad the product is coming along nicely. I can't wait to get my hands on some because I have about a thousand cars that could really use a product like this. Hopefully it'll be out in time for the winter...

Steve, when you're using the wheel sealant, what can you clean your wheels with that won't remove it? Obviously you couldn't just use a high alkaline wheel cleaner or any kind of acid cleaner as that would probably strip the sealant. So just car soap or an apc?

Charles so far nothing strong has ben needed to clean the test wheels:)
I've seen brake dust just wipe off with a tissue cleanly on BMW brake dust and something like Spray and Wipe or car wash should be just fine. I don't see the need right now for an APC or strong alkaline cleaner:dunno

well thats really good news to hear steve! you guys werent kiddin! this BMW brake dust is killing me!! in one day my rims are the same color as my tires (BnB of course). keep it coming!!
