I wish I had a "before" pic of the black textured plastic trim piece below the windshield where the wipers mount. It was all rainbow-colored and ugly looking. It's a gorgeous shiny black now!!! :headbang :drool

And the tip you gave me about applying it with a foam paintbrush... :bigups Works like a charm!

I can't even begin to say how awesome this stuff is. I'm floored. Anything I've ever used before to perform a similar function was always greasy as heck. Can't believe this stuff is water-based and works this well. Amazing.

Looks fantastic. Really transforms that textured black plastic.

From your experience, how long will that "like-new" look last? In other words, does the TR wear off and if yes, how long does it take?

How long after you "paint" it on do you buff the excess?

Does it run down the side of the vehicle in the rain?

That's what I had trouble with using TR. I have since stopped using it. And yes I would dry buff it afterwords to try to solve the problem.

It will eventually but I've seen it last a few months

I would wait about 30 minutes to an hour

not if it is buffed well with a coton towel and allowed to fully dry

I found that if I let it sit for anything more than a couple of minutes, it would start to bead up a bit on horizontal surfaces, or run a bit on vertical surfaces. I went ahead and wiped right away due to that, to maintain a nice even look. If you let it sit for 30-60 minutes, will streaks or runs where the product may have been applied a bit thicker show up when it's dry? Just wondering how "perfect" the application has to be to let it sit for that long and dry some before wiping.

On a side note, I took my TR over to a buddy's place today and hit up a few surfaces on his 911. He literally ran into the house, got his laptop, and made me show him the website. :rockin So sometime in the next few days when he can tear himself away from DC, I'm sure he'll be ordering some PB products. :D
 
I usually tend to go over it a few times with the foam brush or another dry & clean foam brush to pick up extra if it was applied too heavy...

LOL ...Sounds like your friend may have caught the detailing bug:hippi
 
If you are getting runs, you are probably using too much product. Just a few drops will go a very long way. I like to use a very dense foam sponge for application. Cosmetic foam wedges are great for getting into those tight spots. Those flat one-sided paint brushes (edge tools) are also good for wide areas like mirror housings.

I have yards of black trim on my vehicles and never have any problems with runs. I just apply, wait about 15 minutes, then buff with a cotton terry towel.
