Auto Detail & Restoration
First of all I'd like to sincerely thank all of your guys input on the PB-EXP. I also used the Black Hole prior and we are very pleased so far with the first coat (doing another tommorrow).

It's time for us to reorder more supplies and I suggested we try some more PB. He's all for it. So if you were to place an order for a line of exterior PB products what would you get, start to finish.

We already have most of the "boutique" products but I'm looking to consolidate down to more of one line. Think of engine bay, wheels (Borani uncoated aluminum with chrome spokes and centers), wheelwells, trim, etc.

I'm open to interior products but they have to have a neutral smell (car smell)

If you have a compatible product, just say why if it is not PB. There is a reason for this thread. We can get anything we want but I think in a Concours world full of "boutique" products it would be nice to show what we can do with Poorboys from what I've seen. Kinda tired of hearing how much people pay for wax. Would be nice to take some awards with PB. Griot's has been very quick to run over and take pics next to our cars after winning.

I currently have a Dewalt variable, HF variable(backup) and a PC. I have the Schlagel line of pads with the 3m black polish pads. But open to suggestions.

Here are the current list of colors in the collection
60's red (more yellow)
Rossa Corsa Red (bright red)
50's red (almost orange)
Deep blue
Black
Fly yellow
White
Dark Green

If you have a product based on color it would be nice to match color to product A sincere thank you. Any awards won wil be posted with PB products used with car thought that would be nice. Give credit where credit is due alng with DC. Thanks.

Your thoughts? Can also start thread before and after in "show off your work" as we go or let you guys pick the next car out of 2 (there are 25). I can't do it all at once. It's up to you guys if your interested. Would like to include everyone somehow. We are just happy with what we've seen so far. Thank you again.

Most of all I need product and trust your opinion. This could get interesting. Also a good way to promote fom what I've seen a good product and people.:dcrules

Good to hear your so happy with PB's.

Steve has some great products at great price and is always willing to help someone out.

I love the Nattys Red on black

Since you mentioned Schlagel line of pads I assume that you will be doing some defect removal. I would recommend Pro Polish to go with your wool pads. PP will really brighten reds and whites but really cleans up all colors. You can get a lot of correction with PP and wool pads on the rotary.

The SSR line works well with the rotary as well. I have used a lot of SSRs and have trouble breaking the abrasives down fully with a DA but I love the stuff with the rotary. The SSR 2.5 and SSR1 get a bit runny but the SSR2 stays like a lotion consistency. I would recommend SSR2 with foam polish pad on Rotary. Work time is long with SSR2 so it will break down nicely.

Polish with Sealant is a very nice polish that I have to recommend as a final finishing polish though you can get good correction with it depending on the pad you use.

I can't think of any interior products with a neutral smell but the Leather Stuff is a really nice product that smells like leather so I guess that would be a car smell. The Natural look is also nice but has a cherry smell to it but the smell fades off quickly (1 day). and it doesn't look all greasy either.

That APC and Bold & Bright combo has served me well for the engine bay and the APC doesn't turn aluminum white like some cheaper all purpose cleaners will.

Spray and Rinse wheel cleaner was too strong for some coated wheels in that if you allow it to dwell for too long you will be spending hours cleaning up the damage (kind of etching or staining) and it doesn't really work without mechanical agitation with a brush, in my opinion it's not worth the risk. I would definitely not recommend it for uncoated wheels.

I like the QW+ for a liquid wax, it has a very glossy look to it and lasts a few weeks to a month on my car. I wasn't impressed with the new Natty's liquid Blue because like the SSR2.5 and SSR1 it has turned very runny like water. though it did look good when I first tried it, it really didn't seem to last more than one wash on my car. I would say it would be good if applied the day before the show.

I will recommend any of the Natty's actual paste waxes as they look very very nice though the durability is about a month tops.

I have used the Poorboy's World line for the last 2 years and have to say that they are good if you are working on show cars (like you are) but for my everyday mobile detailing business they are no longer working for me, though I will be using them on my own car as that is a labor of love that I don't mind doing multiple steps and taking all the time required.

Hummm pooorboys you say..........

OK Here it goes...

Bug Squash... Member of the 5 gallon club- A Must have if you deal with bugs...

Bold and Bright Excellent tire dressing Plus you can spray it on and wipe with a terry towel to clean the tires (i have cleaned white walls this way)

Wheel sealant I'm Jaded on this on as I got the VERY first version of it and I liked it better but I still coat all my wheels in this stuff and it helps to keep them clean inside and out.

Natty's I like natty's blue but they are all good.. Combine this with cold Spray and Gloss and you can spit shine your car all day..

Leather Stuff Man i can get enough of the smell I love it and it works great also you can switch this out with Natural Look.

Trim restorer does work wonders but you need to make sure you buff it off good otherwise you might get the runs

Spray and wipe.. I would be a memebr of the 10 gallon club if they had it...

QD+ I love it a little will go a long way and if you use too much it will smear but it makes things glossy and slick

Pro polish 1+2 this stuff is Slick as Snot.. you can polish anything with this stuff it was the First pad dependent polish i saw or worked with and when i saw how it took out sanding marks I was amazed and then we took off the wool pad and finished it off my stepping down pads and while it wasa beater truck lid it was 98% free of defects then he amped it up with pro-polish 2

Polish with sealant and Polish with carnuba blue- these are my go to one stepers or base coats.

SSR line.. I hated them.. i could never get them to work. I held menzera close to my heart and as much as i tried never could get what i needed out of them.. That was before... Steve made some MAJOR changes to them and they are great.. (he even made ssr2 a little more aggressive because it was the same as ssr1)

I never used ex or ex-p much so i'll not comment on that..

and i also need more work with the glazes..

APC..Very very good.. it works great diluted I haven't found better but it is..$$$

PS the SS&S and SS&S with wax is my go to soaps....

I appreciate the input. The cars get driven too. Sometimes he'll pick one and drive it daily till it gets to be a mess and then another. Not to mention the sweet gum trees and very long gravel drive. They also do rallys like the Copperstate and the Carolina Trophy(week long 1000 mile or more events). They get driven like they are stolen.

I do my best to protect and teach but can't be there all the time. I try and put whats he needs in the car for basics during trips. However one time I found one of those net wrapped paint killing bug scrubber sponges he bought somewhere.:wall

I dont take wools to the cars unless absolutely needed (spot areas) just because of the amount of times they go out. A mild correction few times a year and as much protection as possible. He'd have no paint if I fully corrected everytime...Seriously!

I loved the way nattys blue liquid wax looked on bfwd on my black stang. I still got some I don't use cause of bfms.

I'm a huge fan of Poorboys products! Here is what I have and used.

PBs Bio APC - is excellent for tires and wheel wells! Infinite amount of ratios for any job you need it at.

PBs EX-P - I know you said you used it before and I agree it a must have on my shelf!

PBs Nattys Red and Blue - I love both this equally, but I truly love Nattys Red on my red car and blue works great on dark cars, unless I want a deeper/darker look to my red.

PBs Blackhole - Great for the filling you might want or that extra bang for black paint.

PBs Bug Squash - A MUST for those bug months!

PBs Natural Look - My go to interior dressing and works just as great for leather!! Has a great smell, it does dry matte and smell outstanding smell doesn't overpower or last long - leaves a fresh smell to a newly cleaned car.

PBs Trim Restorer - 1 of 2 of the must have trim resotrer products I have! A must have!

PBs QW+ - Great for that quick wax look when you need it. Or just the simpler cleaning, ie removing finger prints, dirt, bird dropping etc...

Any of the above would be great, but those must haves to push you to the PBs side would be...

1) Natural Look
2) Nattys Red, Blue
3) Bio APC
4) EX-P
5) Bug Squash

Heres my headliner I did a while back with PBs Bio APC http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/detailers-showcase/37035-headliner-restoration.html

Well this was dug up from the dead thread so I'll ask what products did you get?

I ended up with and still use:

PB ExP
Leather Stuff
Black Hole
Polish with Sealant
Pro Polish
Pro polish 2
Bold and Brite
Bold and Bright Gel
Spray and gloss

Also had a few clients order some basics plus get with Steve to start their arsenal.

I have poorboys natty's red and leather stuff. Leather stuff does a good job of conditioning my leather, but does leave it a little slippery which I don't like. I'll have to use more clean mf's next time. I'll be looking for a different cleaner and conditioner down the road.

Leatherique is the one that I use a long with PB LS. I use the PB as a maintenance line and the leatherique as a deep cleaner and conditioner

Leatherique is one line I'm looking at as well. I'm also thinking of trying the four start professional line cleaner and conditioner that Garry Dean had in one of his videos. From what I've read/seen Leatherique can't be beat, but it is a big process to use it. How long does the process take you?
