Paste Glaz vs. Sig Series

The Whaler Loves Detail City
When I first joined DC I was told and read that Pinnacle's Souveran was the best wax for dark colors and Paste Glaz for light and metallic. So having a dark green metallic and a silver metallic I bought both. Then Pinnacle came out with the Sig Series for metallics. Through the generosity of others I got the Sig Series also. Well today after applying EX-P+ to a silver with gold metalflake I decided to do a Paste Glaz/Sig Series comparison instead of just using the Sig. Using a yellow foam applicator both went on smoothly enough. Also if you go thin the wax(either) goes a looong way. After doing a 1/2 of car with each I buffed off using a blue micro from Poorboy's. Although they both came off rather easy (I think Natty's is still easier to take off) there was some drag on the towel in the thicker areas and I had to go over such sections several times with the micro. No big deal. Once the car was completely buffed I stood back to examine my work. There's a definite difference in appearance. Paste Glaz has a warmer deeper look(flake somewhat muted) while the Sig gives me the pop that I like to see in the metallic. The car right now is out basking in the sun. Paste Glaz isn't as deep or dark as Souveran but it certainly is more the Sig Series. All three waxes are quality products. You can tell this as soon as you start using them. My daughter should be very pleased with her car when she comes home this evening!

Yes Jared in my opinion Paste Glaz would stand out on light colors. Not sure about white though as that is a rough color but I plan on using it on my other daughter's white car

Thanks for the quick response. I am having a difficult time trying to find "that" combo for my white truck. I guess I will know when I find it, but so far I like the way UPP looks by itself on there. I think I am going to go EX-P (and maybe try topping with LS) when the pollen finally dies out here. Thanks for the comparison - you have been on a roll lately!

Now try Souveran on your light metallic paint. Souveran, IMO, beats Paste Glaz and Signature on light metallics.

BTW, any reason you let Pinnacle's paste waxes haze? They're WOWO products.

The reason I let the wax haze is because I like doing the entire car first then going back to wiping it off. Some day I will put Souveran on my wife's silver metallic but I don't think I'll like it. I put Souveran on my dark green metallic and even though it looked good it did hide the flake. I like the Liquid Souveran on top of the Souveran Paste look better than just the Souveran Paste solo.

I noticed that Past Glaz was more slick than Sig Series. Did you notice the same? I would have to agree though, for metallic I like sig better.

For what it is worth my favorite combo on white is One Grand Omega Glaze followed by two coats of Blitz Wax. Not only is it super durable but that combo gives white paint a "glow" that I have been yet to duplicate.

Thanks for the recommendation. :) I don't have either of those products, but I have heard some good talk about the Blitz Wax. I've heard it's durable - right up there with Collinite. Maybe I can give it a try sometime.
