pakshak towels

I am looking at placing a big order and was wondering your guys opinion.

They have the MICROPAK 16" x 16" Ultra-Microband Plush Micro Fiber Towel and the MICROPAK 16" x 16" Ultra-Plush Micro Fiber Towel towels. They are the same price and the only difference I see is that one has silk edging and one has soft microband edging. Would there be any advantage of one over the other?

Also in drying towels (the bigger ones) they have the MICROPAK 25" x 36" Ultra-Soft Waffle Weave Micro Fiber Towel and the MICROPAK 24" x 36" Waffle Weave Micro Fiber Towel. They are also the same price. I've used some WW towels before and they seemed rough/scratchy. But I've heard people say the Ultra-Soft ones are nice? Any suggestions? Or should I just stick with a few of the bigger MF towels from them for drying?

Thanks for any help/suggestions!

the ultra-soft waffle weaves are the way to go (the only ones i like to use)... the regular waffle weaves are a tad too hard for my liking...

+1 on the ultra-soft

Yep, it's hard to beat the Ultra-Soft WW's for a drying towel. As for the silk or microband edging that is more of a personal preference; I haven't noticed a problem with either style.

I totally agree. I'm rather fond of their gladiator towel.

I am also very impressed with the MF towels from theragshack.com. Great prices, high quality and very fair shipping charges.

A couple years ago I ordered an assortment of PakShak towels to see what all the fuss was about. I have to say that I didn't find the Pak towels to be any better than any other premium towels, and perhaps in some cases not quite as good. They were by no means bad, I just think you need to be a smart shopper and look at price as well, and although I've hardly bought any towels in the last couple of years, back at the time I felt I could hit the Pak quality at a better price elsewhere.

You can, and there are a slew of other quality vendors, but you'll never get a bad towel from Ranney (PakShak) or he'll make it good.

I get MF's from all over the map, but if I recommend PakShak to someone I know they'll be getting a top shelf MF, and sometimes that assurance is worth paying a little more for.

I agree. Their towels are nice, but not nice enough to justify the higher cost over other "premium" MFs. Honestly the nicest MF I have (from theragshack) costs like $3, most of Pakshaks MFs are in the $5 range.

Have you looked at TheRagShack.com? I am very pleased with my towels from there.

+1 For TheRagShack I just got an order in from Justin today and his towels are great quality and fast shipping plus a great price Not to say that they don't have good quality at Pakshak as I have several from there as well and they do have quick shipping as well

PS's 16x16 are 3.50 and the 16x24 is 4.50.

Am I missing something? Ragshacks towels range from 4 to 4.40 each.

You are correct. They have so many different types of MF (Ultra MF, Ultra Plush MF, Ultra-Microband Plush MF, Ultra Fine MF, Ultra Edgeless MF, etc.) that it is hard to keep up with the size/price. That is another reason I am turned off by them, I honestly wouldn't know what to buy. :nixweiss

With that said, I have/use their WWs, their Ultra Edgeless, and one or two others. They are nice, but not substantially (if any) better than other available MFs. I just don't get the hype.

But you have to admit they are really nice people and they have great customer service. I never bought a bad product from them and they stand behind what they sell the problem is that EVERBODY is selling the same item in a different way, so we all loking for a great price with no loyalty
