Man, that's shiny!
Well, I bit the bullet and painted my calipers a few weeks ago.
The car is brand new so rust and dirt wasn't an issue. I washed the calipers with Simple Green (being careful not to contaminate the pads-they're ceramic) and rinsed with plain water. After a suitable drying time, taped them off, wire brushed them and used engine primer. Then I used Chevy red engine paint on them.
After three weeks and 5 thousand miles-I drive a lot for work, sometimes at speeds over 100 when conditions are correct and a ton of hand washes, the paint is holding up very well; At this point I'm pretty impressed with the results.
