Paint Thickness Gauge

Search Function wasn't working for me...So I'm going to post my question.



I'm in the market for a Paint Thickness Gauge and have some questions. Where can I buy one? Do they loose accuracy? Are they all pretty much expensive?



Any input on Paint Thickness Gauge would be appreciated.
 
I have the Fender Splendor FS502. It wasnt cheap, but it does everything that I want it to do, except measure on fiberglass. It will only measure on metal surfaces. As far as accuracy, it gives you test plates with the unit and the thickness of the plates. If, for some reason, when you test your unit on these plates (which I do before each use), the reading is off, it gives you detailed instructions on how to calibrate it. I have had this unit for about 2 years now, and have not had any issues with it going out of calibration. I also like this unit because it measures in both mils and microns (which I always use). Overall, it was a great investment and I get a ton of use out of it.
