Paint defect question.

OK, I am working on a Honda Accord (Gen 5) and I am encountering a paint defect that I am not sure how to classify. The clearcoat has the same checkmark failure that my brother-in-law's Gen 5 Accord has, but this one also has "hazy" areas. Some areas polish out nicely, and some look as if the paint has almost oxidized underneath the clearcoat. Here is a pic...CC Failure. The trunk was washed, clayed, SSR 2.5 via PC on 5/6, AIO, NXT. I don't think I can pull a whole lot out of this paint job as these large dull spots abound.

It's kind of hard to tell on the pic, but the areas of low gloss are what I am referring to. I will try to get better pics of it tomorrow. I was hoping to get some really good before and afters of this car as it is very funky, but the paint color really hides the condition of the car well in all the shots I took. :( Here is the clay from the trunk ALONE...Clay Pic. The paint on this car felt like I was rubbing the clay across the pavement. Made me cringe...

Not sure about Hondas, but 06 GTOs have had problems with blotchy paint under the clearcoat. Nothing can be done with them except repaint under warranty. Not sure if this is something similar with the Accord, but you may want to check out some Accord forums to research.

Think that claybar is bad? I ran my hand across the surface of my 05 GTO that I picked up a few weeks ago and it felt like 300 grit sandpaper on all horizontal surfaces. :furious:

The back part of that car looks to have been repainted. I can't tell if it's general CC failure or if it was just done improperly.

The car hasn't been repainted believe it or not, but it sure does look like a really bad Maaco paint job in some places. It's weird. I'm wondering if it is possible for the paint to fade or oxidize underneath the clearcoat somehow.
