Paint Decontamination System??

Iâ€â„¢ve been using this system successfully for a while and it does what it says it will.

Accumulator has much more experience with this system, either do a search or maybe he will respond to this post

Actually I only have experience with the *AutoInt ABC* system, a different decontamination system (which worked fine for me) from FK's main competitor. Decontamination systems are, IMO a very good thing to use *when you need them*.

A fellow Autopian took such extreme offense at my comparing the two systems (ABC and FK) and/or my even repeating what others have posted about FK, that I hesitate to respond to this lest I somehow start some :argue

If TOGWT says that it works well I'll take his word for it.

Accumalatot- I didn't mean to put you on the spot, I had meant to write"Accumulator has much more experience with [these type of systems] ....

I'm doing a How-To for Por-15® Marine Products (I'll do anything for a freebie LOL) it will be interesting to compare them.

That's OK, I'm just being a little, uhm, careful about this topic ;)

The POR-15 Marine Products oughta be interesting. Gotta follow the instructions to the letter with the POR-15 stuff that I've used.

i think TriPinTaZ did the decontamination system on his white Trans-Am. i thought he did a write up for it but i couldn't find it. :nixweiss

Is this system geared more for detailers or for the enthusiust? I've thought long and hard if this would benefit vehicles that I've never detailed before. It seems like it might be to time consuming and am I going to see any noticeable results using this system? Any additional info would be very much appreciated. PM me if certain people don't want to post openly because of past bad experience with this topic. Thanks!!

Mark Waldron- Having only used the AutoInt ABC system I'll restrict my comments to it. Heh heh, I'm not gonna *not* post about a product that has worked well for me ;)

Yeah, it can be a good way to start with a "clean slate". It is perfectly useable by the typical Autopian enthusiast (and consider the types of people often doing new car prep at dealerships anyhow, it's not rocket science ;) ).

I *would* be careful to follow the instructions (not hard) and I'd keep the acidic component (the "B" part) off glass and trim. I clay while the "B" is dwelling. Note that "B" isn't as effective on "rust blooms" that have been there for a while, you probably won't get the same effectiveness that you would on a new car. But it's still better than just clay.

Even though the smallest quantity ABC comes in is one gallon of each, IMO that's not as much too much as you might think. It seems to have a very long shelf life.

Searching on "ABC", "FinishKare", "FK1", and "AutoInt" will probably bring up some interesting reading. I'm not the only person here who uses this stuff.

Great product I have been using it for a couple weeks now, it is well worth the money and you can make alot of money using it.
