Paint chip repair product

Yes, I am in the process of using it right now. It is a very similar product to Mothers paint chip repair. I can not give a fulll report yet because I still have to put on the clear coat, let it dry then smooth it out.

So far after the base coat and mid coat , it is performing as advertised and the only place I have new paint is in the chip itself. The true test will be after the Clear coat is applied.

I've used it and amazing enough it worked as advertised. At first I wasn't too sure if it was going to work but it did and I can't even tell where the chips were :up

The kit doesn't come with clear coat. Do I need it?

If the vehicle your using this for was painted w/it yes you will need the CC.

Langka makes several kits and one of them allows for the use of your own touch-up paint (from the dealership lets say)

I've been using Lanka for a couple months and would say I would use it for chip repair only, and you probably don't need CC then. If you have a scratch do it the old way: Fill - Wet Sand - Polish via Rotary.

How about polishing via PC? And is wetsanding with 2000 grit ok? I am a newb to wetsanding. I will be wanting to fix both deep scratches and chips.

Burylq- How have your results been with the system. I have searched and many have mixed results/feelings.

I've never used a PC for that so I can't tell you, I am pretty sure it will work. 2000 should do it no prob. Find how much it is to repaint the panel in question, I find that it usually costs about 300 per panel if it's single stage, a little more for CC. What kind of car are you driving?

'04 Infiniti G35 Coupe in a dark metallic blue. I don't want to repaint because it only a small rock chips on the hood and side fenders. The front bumper is really a mess with at least 100 small and medium size rock chips which I will have to repaint for sure in the summer. Then I am going to buy a clear bra, which I should have earlier.

I was wondering how your experience was with the Langka system. Did you remove your rock chips and make it look flush? Or was it still a little noticeable?

It is still noticable, but also noticably better than a chip. Let the paint dry for at least 2 to 3 days, not 5 or more/ or one or less. The good thing about chip repair is you prevent rusting and the chip spreading, but it will not look perfect, but you can get close. That's the best I can tell you, I have tried it on about 12 cars. It's pretty fool proof so you can use it w/o worrying. If it doesn't look good just apply 2 or 3 applications of Lanka and then re-do the chip. My first chip took a week to fix, I did it 3 times and it was just ok. I find the most challenging part is filling the "crack". If the crack is deep, it is very hard to fill and not notice it. The sides of the valley are part CC and part FP, and it is hard to duplicate. Buy the little pencil sander and try to even the surface as much as possible, this will give you best shot at good repair. I personally think old method is best for scratches though, but you might be able to encorporate Lanka in the scratch and finish with less sanding and polishing. GL

Hmm...do you think I would get better results with just going to old fashioned way of fixing rock chips. Fill in the chip, wait to dry, wet sand and polish.?

Personally, I'd use Lanka on chips and the old way on scratches. Remeber, it's fool proof, if your not happy apply more Lanka and everything is removed. Also, when I put the towel covered card over the Lanka corrected chip, I use the flat part of the card not the side. I just try to go over the surface and not into the chip. Take the flat of the card and go back and forth over chip, but keeping the card over the chip the whole time. Personally, I found this the easiest way.
