Pads soaking up lots of product

Maybe I'm picky, but I'm annoyed by the fact that my LC white pads soak up so much product. I have such a hard time cleaning the pad since its soaks up so much products that it is hard to get all of it out of the pad. My question is that has anyone had experience with other polishing pads that don't soak up so much stuff. I was considering changing to something like Meguiars yellow or Propel Green ect.. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.
 
Do you use a spray bottle or something to slightly wet the pad before and during use? If you are using a dry pad to polish that might explain the extra product you are using.
 
Yes I mist before I use it, but are you saying I should mist everytime I need to apply product? Anyway the pad seems to get so soaked that it weighs three times as much as it did dry.
 
Depending on the condition of the vehicle you are working on I change pads two or three times on buffing a car. On a car that is in good condition might just take just one pad.

Claying helps pads last longer, so does running pads on lower speeds
 
You should mist your pad *with water, not qd* when initially starting a detail to help *load* the pad, but after one or two mists at the most you shouldn't have to mist it again. This is just to help the product spread evenly throughout the pad. If you effectively get enough product soaked into a pad that it weighs three times as much, you are using WAY too much product. More isn't always better. I use a lot of various products and they never really *soak* in the pad, but kind of just stay at the bottom. Once the pad is loaded, all you should need is a small circle or a few dots of product for polishing one area, which shouldn't be any larger than 2ft x 2ft at a time.
