Pads (Handjobber) vs terry cloth

I was wondering when applying products such as OP, RMG, NB ,AIO is there a real difference between applying them on with a pad (eg white pad) vs just applying it on with a terry cloth?

because I don't have a pc and was considering on getting the handjobber from eshine (http://www.eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=181). But will there even be a difference if i used this rather then applying with a terry cloth.

Terrycloth is a big no-no for me. I don't let any terrycloth touch my paint in any part of the process. Others may tell you differently, and that's fine. But for me, and my opinion, I wouldn't use terrycloth to apply anything.

The terrycloth won't soak up the product as much as a foam pad applicator. But it's been my experience that using any type of terry will scratch the paint (even if it's as worse as micro-marring). IMHO, foam or microfiber applicators are far superior to terry.
