Is there a list or a breakdown anywhere of all the pads talked about here.



I hear cutting, polishing , finishing, white , yellow, red??????





Can someone help a newb out? thanks.

Go to the shop button on the top and go to the autopia store and properautocare and you'll see some of the pads talked about here.



As far as Meguiars pads go...



Maroon...cutting pad

Yellow...polishing pad

Tan...finishing pad

The color of the pads vary by the mfg. Since 04BlackAV listed the Meguiars pads, here is a list of the LCM (Lake Country Manufacturing, Inc.) pads as sold here:



LCM pads:



Orange...cutting pad

White...polishing pad

Grey...finishing pad

Not really, I think it comes down to personal preferences. I read that Meguiar’s pads had a problem with the velcro coming off, but that has supposed to have been fixed.



The LCM pads had too small of a diameter velcro that allowed the backing plate to cut into the pad, but they redesigned them (although not all inventories may be purged yet). Some of the LCM pads have a concave center, called a "Variable Contour, Polish Pocket� that some may prefer. You may want to search around the forums and see what some other users like, but I’ve read good things about both companies pads, although the only experience I have is with the Meguiar’s (which has been positive).
