Pads for Hand Polishing

I haven't done this in awhile as I've been using DeWalt Orbital but I'm wanting some nice applicator pads for hand polishing. I know the buffer is quicker but when I work on my own truck I like to enjoy the time... I'll save the buffer for the customer's vehicles.

I've gotten some pads from TOL in the past, those yellow ones, and was wondering if there were anyones out there better.

I've actually heard using jersey cotton cloth works well for hand polishing. I've found that foam generally doesn't create enough friction to be effective.

If you like foam pads for hand polishing, the German flag design pads from Sonus are quite good.

I haven't found anything I like better thatn the Wolfgang Polishing Pal with pads. The pads fit my 4" backing plate for my PC as well.

I bought a 2-piece cotton terry set from Detailers' Paradise; I believe they were made by Lexol, but I'm not sure. I checked the web site, but I don't see them now. One is round and one is square. I'm still using them almost two years later, regularly; very good products, even though I don't think they were originally designed for polishing paint.

Like Zoomie said, if you're doing something that needs some bite, the yellow foam hand apps doesn't usually cut it (I have one of the foam apps that Bill is talking about, which has a coarser side, as well as the Handi-Grip from ACC, but haven't used them yet). I find the new Meg's Evencoat apps to be the easiest to hold, and they are fairly cheap at the list price (2 for $3), although I find out in the world they are selling for over list. Another nice one is the Excel Micro Apps which are the flat round ones with a MF covering, they work really well and are 2/$2. That Polishing Pal looks like it would be good, too, but I haven't tried it.
