I cant wait until my pc gets here, and I was just wandering, I know that all of you say that the pad that comes with the pc is crap, but does anyone think I might be able to use it with AG glass polish as a kindah super heavy cutting pad to get oiff all those water spots>?

i just got mine an the pad ic crap indeed. ur idea sounds like a good one and it could probably work. i assume u mean using it with the pc an not jus scrubbing the window by hand with it. i dont think it could do any serious harm besides some splattering so ya might want to give it a shot unless some1 else says it could be bad on glass.

Personally I wouldn't use the pad that comes with the PC on anything. I did try it out on a junk panel before my pads arrived in the mail. Kept turning up the speed and eventually it ripped part at speed 6.

I used mine with ssr2.5 on glass and it worked pretty well. It does not seem like it's going to last very long as it is already seperating from the backing plate.

I use mine strictly for glass. VM or AIO works extremely well in maintaining my windows. With that said, my pad is about a year old and has not "blown-up or ripped apart". However, I allow the product (AIO or VW) to do the work, not the pad.

Have a great weekend everyone,

i also havent used my "stock" pad for anything, windows sound like a good plan though i have never really done them properly. for those of you using the PC to polish windows, how do you get the entire window, like the parts near the edge around the weatherstripping and trim?

I use my stock pad on furniture/appliances/various household applications, but I'm sure itd work pretty well on glass. Not good for much else though, mine blew up at speed 6 on a bathtub.

I think they include that pad just so they can call it a "Polisher" instead of just an adjustable speed motor unit.

I have used that pad on fiberglass showers with AIO with decent results cleaning up and adding shine.

It's not much good for anything else and it really soaks up product.

Just wanted to update this thread.....I just purchased my PC! I dont have any good pads (cant wait to get up enough money.) I tried the stock pad on my Intrepid's glass this evening. Let me tell you, if you are carefull not to produce any sling, Orange Blast tire cleaner, with the stock pad really is the way to go to get out exremely stubborn water spots on glass. Before I had the PC, I put soo much elbow grease into those windows. I tried steel wool, APC, and all kinds of things. When I tried the Tire cleaner by hand, back then it worked halfway decent, but man, on a PC it does wonders. Looks like that crummy stock pad is good for something after all!

*WARNING*, do not try to spin dry the stock pad. I soaked it, cleaned it out, squeezed out the majority of the water, and was going to do a quick spin dry. I didn't have it on for 3 seconds when the pad exploded.

It should work to help absorb liquid at the bottom of your cat box. Other than that, I can't think of a single good use for it. I got significant marring on a Silverado SS using that pad with Meguiars #80.

For some people, warnings like "don't do that or it'll explode!" are just an encouragement. I will do my best to resist, however.

I find the stock pad works well for removing wax with a bonnet.

I'd never use that thing on a vehicles paint. On the other hand, it really would be nice to have a cheap PC pad to use on showers, kitchen appliances, glass, ect. Is there such a thing as a pc pad anywhere for under 3 or 4 bucks that could be used after my stock pad blows up?

I know you guys are going to hate me for this, but this was before I knew that the stock pad was crap. I used it to do this with TW Urithane Polish (once again before I was enlightened). I actually think it did a decent job, but havent used it since.

Didn't notice any marring either. And I did it about three months ago and it still looks good!
