I know this may sound like a stupid question but here it goes. I have a backing plate that is 6 3/4-7 in. So I ordered 7.5 LC/VC pads, but when I recieved them the were marked 6.5 with LC numbers that were infact 6.5 pads.
When I contacted the seller about the pads he said that I ordered the wrong pads because sellers sell by pad diameter and not backing plate size like the LC uses. I'm trying to figure this out so I asked:
"So your 8.5 are 7.5 and your 7.5 are 6.5 and your 6.5 are ?. Really Im just trying to make sence of all this. "
and replyed:
"Yes, the 8.5" pads are for a 7.5" backing plate (a 7" plate works too)
The 7.5" pads are for a 6.5" backing plate (they work good with a 6"-6.5" plate actually)
The 6.5" pads can use a 6.5" plate but it is dangerous because the plate is right at the edge of the pad and one wrong move and the plate hits the car paint and does some damage. The best thing for the 6.5" pads is a anything from a 5" to 6" plate."
Is this the standered way??? And the company has been great to deal with very fast bye the way.
