I have purchased several new pads and have some questions for those with experience using them.
1. I have not used the Purple Foam Wool Pads yet, but will be trying them out with PC (4 inch LC pads) and Flex (6.5 inch LC pads) and Menzerna Power Gloss for some deeper scratches than I could get with orange pads and SIP. They have a very different feel than the foam pads I have been using. Is the technique and quantity of product (3 or 4 pea sized drops) the same as with foam pads? Any special tips or considerations? Also, are they cleaned with similar products? I use Snappy.
2. I tried the new LC Green Light Cutting Pads rather than white and orange this time on my black metallic finish. I used Menzerna Super Finish. Worked well enough that I was able to skip organge pads with SIP. A recommendation I saw was to follow up with black LC pads and Super Finish to jewel. I have two questions:
A. Is it necessary to apply the Super Finish polish in exactly the same overlapping way, same speed, same time for passes to jewel since the black pad doesn't really cut?
B. To be honest, I did not see that much difference with this last "jeweling" step. I am wondering if it was not really a good use of my time, since it took a couple hours on a Grand Caravan. Do others think this last step with the black pad and Super Finish is worth the time?
By the way, I was extremely pleased with the light green pads. I am looking forward to trying the tangerine hydro tech instead of the orange white combo on my next detail.
Thanks, Rick.
