Pad Question

Having just recieved my new PC7424, and wanting to try it out this weekend, I have a question about the pads. I've read that you shouldn't switch pads between products. So, if I use a couple pads this weekend with Meguiars #7 polish, can I wash these pads and use them with Klasse AIO next weekend?

I do all the time. I just make sure to clean them good and a little tip...clean them right after you are done using them. Don't let them sit until next weekend and then clean them. Also make sure to dry them well when you are done cleaning.

Yes, Danase has it right. Clean right away, and don't worry about switching products on the same pad. MAYBE I'd worry about using a heavy compound on the same pad I used to apply glazes with, but then why would you use a soft glazing pad for compounding anyway.

Shoot, I use the same pads at the same times for different products, if there compatible. An example would be going from a lesser abrasive to more abrasive product. Im not sure I would do this with a glaze and sealant though.......!

If I find its going to be a while until I can clean them (Im getting old/lazy/ and tired, quicker these days) I'll place them in a baggy or in a bucket, covered with the dirty MF's. I did 2 jobs last Saturday, so my pads are still in a bucket, covered with my dirty MF's.....

Wash with warm water, and a gentle detergent or diluted APC, massage product out of pores, rinse, repeat if necessary. (Sounds like im selling shampoo)

For drying, I will put them back in my wash bucket, on their side, resting on a MF (This way the water goes to the bottom and and is abosorbed my a clean MF)

Couldn't have said it better... yet I use my PC to dry my pads! :chuckle:

I simply sandwich mine between a couple of towels and then let them air dry for a couple days to ensure they are 100% dry (I hate it when my pads are still wet, contributing to sling).
