Pad Dimples

Is it normal to get a Dimple or Dip in the middle of the pad when polishing ? This has happened to me more then once and on different pads. It has happened when using an AIO and also with polishes. I don`t notice any performance changes. Thank you for any help/suggestions.

Heat begins to melt the pad from the middle outwards, that`s what you`re seeing.

Heat along with the fact that the product migrates to the center of the pad and saturates it.

Over heating and pad saturation due to over use is the cause. If you change your pad more often, that won’t happen. I typically use one pad per panel unless it’s a bigger panel, then it’s 2.

Wow thanx all for the great info. I think your diagnosis of heat and pad saturation is right on target. LOL I was thinking that I am guilty of both of those things. Now it is confirmed LOL LOL, Thank you guys for the fast accurate response.
