P21S vs CG Wheel Cleaners (gel) a pictorial comparison

Yesterday I had a track day at the 4 mile long and brake intensive Road America in ElkHart Lake, Wi. Today I swapped back street pads on the fronts and was about to begin washing the car when I remembered I had a new camera and wanted to do a little test. I have the gel version of both P21s and Chemical guys and said lets go.

Both product were used in a non-diluted form.

Rear wheel #1 will be CG gel (orange bottle w/ clear top)

Rear wheel #2 is Ps1s gel (white bottle/blue top)

Conclusion?

Final clean was done with ONR and it seemed as though the CG side needed more agitation to get the last bit of dirt off the wheel. The P21S did cling better and finish better. The CG seems like a "watered down" weaker version of the p21s gel.

If you look on the ground in this pic you can see how much has come off the Ps1s wheel on its own without agitating it vs cg

p21s

BTW, was the sticky gel diluted? It looks like you used it straight from the bottle so im guessing its not.

Im going back and forth between this ez gel, diablo or p21s. I dont even know why since I already have some wheel cleaner thats safe for everything. Damn this forum

wow Im blind. Thanks. For the comparison. Its still a toss up though. Do you think the p21s is worth the extra 60-70 for a little less agitation?

I've used the CG stuff recently and I find it you dilute it 3:1/2:1 then throw in a splash of car wash soap, it clings to the well better and foams up really well helping to clean better. Just my .02

Tough call, it really is very good so I guess you get what you pay for. I also like Optimum power clean and it might just be my go to wheel cleaner when my current crop runs out.

However if there is a sale on the P21S gel I might be tempted to order some again.

I'm frugal and make my own wheel cleaner. I use Majestic Solutions Super Green Stuff 2:1 with water and add a couple ounces of DG car wash to thicken it up. You can use any good APC, I like MS stuff cause they're a local company. And I always wipe over the wheel with a sponge ( face side ) and a wheel brush - inside area, then seal with Blackfire Wet Diamond. If I get the chance to wash the car weekly then all I need is car wash soap to clean the wheel and reapply the BF every 5-6th wash - yeah, it's that easy to use. Most of my details can get by with the homemade brew, a few have had to get the Wheel Bright!

Derek, which CG wheel cleaner is this? The "sticky" wheel cleaner or the other stuff?

Thanks.
