P21S and Klasse Konvert

Just tried Klasse twins and P21S topper. Amazing stuff! I don't know why I used to kill myself with Zymol, it was like waxing with a pencil eraser block.

Here's my routine:

I had some minor swirls on the car from a recent dealer wash. They weren't real noticable in the sun, but drove me crazy under the fluorescent lights in my garage, so:

I started with 3M SMR. Followed with P21S GEPC; and the swirls were 90 - 95% gone.

Two coats of Klasse AIO, 99% gone.

Two coats on Klasse HGSG, the shine is amazing! Then added the P21S, it is just incredible.

With these 5 products I can throw all the other stuff I accumulated over the years away!

I can't wait to see how Klasse will look on our boat. A truly fantastic product!

Sweet! Great to see that it worked out for you. Did you let the SG cure for 24 hours between coats? How did it work out for you if no? Get some pics posted. :xyxthumbs

ps... 3 lines max in the sigs. Could ya do a little update? Thanks! :up

Applied by hand.

I didn't wait 24 hours between coats. Just put it on th whole car, buffed it off, and put on the next coat.

MF towels are the best tool I've found in a long time, too!

What's the benefit of waiting 24 hrs?

It is recommended that you wait for 24 hours between coats so that it will cure properly. Not waiting can affect durability and also shine. It may cause hazing and not as clear of a reflection. If you aren't having any problems then they are probably not noticiable. I know that I notice a difference when I wait. 5 coats of wating 24 hours between looks a lot better than 5 coats one after the other. I've done it. Pictures wouldn't show the difference, but you just can tell.

You should also be waiting at least 45 minutes before buffing it off. That is also a step that affects how long it lasts and how good it looks. It also affects how easy it is to buff off. SG isn't a quick product to use, but it is definatly worth it. You can't treat it like its just some other wax. Its a lot different than a wax and the application methods are a little different.

Did you have any problems buffing it off? Some people have difficulty their first couple times with SG. The best way is to use a damp microfiber towel and then follow up with a dry one. Let us know what your process was and how it worked out for ya.

I buffed out with a dry MF towel without any problems.

I'll try waiting with the coats of SG next time and waiting with the final application of the P21S next time.

Seemed to work for me this time though.

I didn't see the car this morning, hopefully it didn't get all fouled up overnight!

Welcome to Autopia! :wavey Glad you're loving the results from some of the best products out there! :xyxthumbs

After reading these posts I am wondering how long you all wait before going through the entire process again? One month-two or even three?? What do you use to keep the car looking good in the meantime? I always wonder what others do when such a long process is done the first time around. Thanks!

I get 4 or 5 layers of Klasse on the car and then wax monthly with P21S. Some people have me strip it and start over halfway through the summer because of the swirls they have caused themselves. That's cool too. Its meant to last a long time though. On my wife's car I usually do it once really good in March and then once again in October. Inbetween those months she gets a monthly wax.

m3driverker- Don't worry too much about not having waited for the curing. I didn't wait on the first car I Klassed- put on 2-3 coats one day and 2-3 more the next. It was still OK when I traded the car over four months later. Waiting IS best, but you'll be fine.

SLULarry- How long will be dependent upon all the various factors that vary from car to car: indoor/outdoor, exposure to bird bombs and IFO, etc.

But generally, you CAN wait a long time. I get MANY months out of Klasse (AIO+SGx3-5), it'll easily last the whole winter and then some. With a wax topper, I may replenish the wax every 5-8 weeks but I won't redo the whole thing for maybe six months. Plus, a quick spritz of QD after a wash seems to really help the durability, slickness and appearance. Note that this is on daily drivers that I won't redo until they really need it. It's sorta surprising how long KSG lasts.

Thanks for the info!! Yet it raises another question. How do you know when to redo the whole job and do you have to strip off the left over old material or will the AIO clean everything off? I would think that it would but I want to make sure.

My car is always outside and we have terrible winters in the north east with a lot of salt used so I want to find a system that will better protect the pants surface through the months that I can not do anything!! Thanks Again!:)

You can wash the car with Dawn to get most of it off. AIO should remove the rest. A Dawn wash before will make it easier on the next step.

SLULarry- You'll "just know" when it's time to start over. As in you'll start redoing your SG/wax topper and notice that the car REALLY needs more than just some QD or another/new coat of the P21S, KSG, whatever. But try GENTLY claying first, that might be all you really need to do.
