overspray help

I had my car go into the shop to get painted after it was damaged by a tint shop. After getting my car back i relized that i had some overspray in a few areas. And beside the overspray the repairs were perfect. Now id rather handle this myself instead of being without a car all over again.

I have a pc polisher along with claybar. Id like advice on the steps i should take to best remove the overspray without damage. Also how long can the overspray sit on the paint?

Thanks for any and all help.

What is it with tint shops? I am just going through the same process - only the car is going back to the shop for the second time for some extra detail next week. How did the tint shop damage yours? I have heard horror stories about numerous cars being damaged out of one shop until someone worked out the tint guy was rolling up and down the car on an office chair while he worked, and it had a jagged piece of metal sticking out which rubbed along the side of the car!!!

Anyway - back to the question. I would have thought try clay then maybe some Klasse AIO with the PC - it won't hurt anyway and I have heard of people removing overspray this way.

Well your are right on the money. All the damage was on the side of my car. Including the hatch also. I have no idea what caused it but i was thinking maybe a belt buckle. The shop owner was really nice about it and it paying for damages along with a full refund and 50% off my next purchase. I doubt i will ever go back though. I am going to tackle this with some claybar and then some mezerna products that i have on hand.

Does anyone know if it will be harder the longer the overspray sits on the car? I need new pads so i had to order some online which will take maybe a week to get to me.

Getting $$ for my repair was like getting blood out of a rock! I got 50% off my next job too - won't be hurrying back tho...

Accumulator would probably be able to help with the overspray duration... I would have thought the sooner the better but everyone seems to say 3 months for a complete cure on new paint as it outgasses. I wouldn't have thought 1 week would matter - can't you clay in the meantime anyway?
