overspray from hell

my friend mickey had his rod in a shop where someone happened to be spraying white enamel on the other side of the building and now the 32 is frosted ... its a black car so ive got my work cut out for me today .. im using P&S medium clay and im going to try p&s polish on the pc followed by gold class liquid on the rotary with a blue edge pad to finish it off .. this car needs a product with fillers to cover up some paint problems it has .. anyway i better get to work .. the second photo shows a spot i clayed .. you can see that it left some marring behind

Ron, I seen this before with the overspray after the cars leave the shop.why aren't they responsable for the clean up?

ok the claying is done and went very well using the hot water trick to keep the clay soft . now its masked up and im going to polish it using p&s ultracoat polish on the rotary with a green edge pad ..

job finished and the customer is happy....i ended up using p&s sealer as the final step and applied it by hand .. when ive used the pc on this car which is fiberglass it leaves orbital motion marks all over the paint its weird .the job took 4 hours ...

We Are definately responsible for overspray...(working @ Body shop) so my job is always a horror mission from peeling clear coat to overspray on both edges on a brand new truck, to paint defects including dirt or what have you....yea thats my whole job....so I usualy go with systemone polish w/ cutting pad and comepletely wipe out everything in a couple of passes including edges...then polish w/ systemone then swril mark remover ,hitoner hand glaze and autobeauty's paint sealent(by hand) and I'm done....and it seeems like you got it done but it took you a little long...I really couldnt see(from the Pic) tho so for it to take that long it must have been really bad..and when I use the systemone its a snap...but I would'nt suggest that unless you're a regular roatery user...and if you are then you should be able to blow right thru it....and you did a great job...but can you tell me where you are buying your P&S supplies cuz i need some BAD.

when i work on cars like this one i just take it real easy and dont rush anything . im pretty good with the rotary so i dont mind using it on this car . i could have gone much faster but this was my job for the day and i had fun doing it .. ill pm you later with some p&s info ...thanks

Thanks BigRon. Fantastic job. I'm a happy customer.

When I pulled up to my friends shop, sprint car chassis, I smelled the paint. But it was at the other end of the building where he was spraying a new trailer. I could tell it was enamel, sure wish it was laquer, but thought I was far enough awaw. That's what I get for thinkin, I shoulda hauled butt when I smelled the paint.

Again, thanks Big Ron. :bump

Nice Work! Sounds like you had fun. Black is truly beautuful. It would be nice to have an area, such as you have shown, to work with a vehicle.

thanks guys thats my 2 car garage .. im going to working in my friends truck accessory store soon so im going to have to get a new cabinet and supplies for down there so i dont have to drag my whole operation down there .. ill keep my extractor ,power washer and buffers at home and take them down when needed
