Overspray! Any other options other than clay?

There is no cure!
Neighbors painted their roof white recently. Never payed attention to it until my dad ask if I could clean up his car. Its been parked for 3 weeks without moving in our driveway. Upon drying the car, I noticed he has white over spray everywhere. I quickly grabbed some clay (meguiars white OTC clay). It barely took out any specs. Im gonna go ahead and pick up some mild grade clay from my local bodyshop supply, hoping it'll be more aggresive and work.

What if it doesn't, seeing as the fine clay from Megs barely did anything to remove the specs.

Any other options or tips?

Plastic razor blades work, but you'll be faced with some polishing. I use a wash mix as a lube, and gently work the razor. It does the job, but takes time.

I never clay without polishing after anyway. Even with fine grade clay, if its not a Audi or Benz, I get marring.

Got a site for these palstic razor blades? I could sure think of more uses for them in my detailing.

You need a stronger clay for that then a rotary with polish that should take it off...on the windows a razor blade will take it right off...good luck!

I also got some overspray on my car, but I had just washed it the day before and the #425 (fk1) didn't let it stick. A quick wash took them right off.

Anyways, back to all your suggestions :).

I've ordered them from Dwayne at detailcity and from top of the line (as pictured below).

PREP-SOL.

Go to the autobody supply and pick some up.

Apply it to a rag (or mink coat of your choice), wipe the overspray away. The car will need some waxing and or polishing.

Prepsol? I would of thought its more of a product to remove adhesive and the likes. Have you used it for over spray?

I would really like to hear more about it.-

I bought this from the local Auto Body Supply. I asked for "prepsol" and this is what the guy gave me...

I also picked up this while I was there...I've used aggresive clay before to help reduce time in claying bad vehicles, but never for stubborn overspray...

I hope this takes care of it.

Advise/suggestions?

I'd make sure to use that 5 Star product in a small area to see how it reacts on the paint....can't be to careful IMO

I believe the prepsol and the 5 star stuff you have a very similar. They smell like a paint thinner, and im guessing that they are close relative to them? I have used prepsol before with good results, and I have always used a white cloth, dont know if the color in the rag is affected. Good luck and as stated before make sure to test that 5 star stuff, it shouldnt make a difference on a fully cured paint but weirder things do happen.

EDIT: after checking out that one link I came across this. Seems a little harsh, but maybe effective.
